Why a pug?

Do you like pugs? Some fall in love with the breed immediately and forever, but it happens differently …

There were always dogs of different breeds in our house, but the first pug girl Dorothea, who appeared with us, dramatically changed my preferences and likes in the dog world. My love for pugs was not love at first sight, it took me a while to get used to, understand and appreciate the endless advantages of this breed. But, I must admit honestly, that did not take a lot of time))). The main thing is to let the pug into the house, and he will crawl into your heart himself, moreover, he will crawl easily and naturally. It happened to me that after a couple of months I realized that this is MY breed, and that pugs will always be in our house now!

Pug is considered an ideal city, family dog, an excellent companion and friend for children, but you still need to understand that this dog is not for everyone.

Sometimes a pug is called a breed of “old maids”, and there is some truth in this statement. “A pug is not a dog, it is an enchanted child!” – This is almost the favorite expression of the pug dogs. The pug is very attached to the person, all his life he goes after the owner “tail”. Pug, until old age, is a charming and direct child, emotionally dependent on the owner, therefore, he can successfully “replace” someone with children or grandchildren. But, if the pug came “not at home”, this is a tragedy for him, he will suffer, get sick or do nasty things. There is something to think about before starting a pug dog …

Perhaps, to some, the pug will seem too intrusive and loving, to someone, surprisingly agile in puppyhood, or too calm and “couch” in adulthood – a matter of taste … The main thing is to go “into the breed” with open eyes, properly evaluating your desires and strengths.

Up to a year, puppies are very vigorous and mobile (you will be surprised at how much energy this shket has), but at the same time, these dogs are very quick-witted and trained. A lot will depend on how your relationship with the puppy develops during this period in your future cohabitation. Pugs are the same children, and you should not expect from them exceptional obedience and unconditional cleanliness, everything comes with time and experience. If you want to raise an obedient and well-bred puppy, then do not spare time for him – teach him everything calmly and purposefully, encouraging the right behavior and ignoring the wrong one, in no case using physical force or a fighting command voice.

The pug has an excellent, balanced nervous system, which you will undoubtedly appreciate in everyday life. These little bastards are great opportunists and “adapters.” The pug gets along with anyone – with dogs and cats (here the relationship will rather depend on the goodwill of the one who was in the house before the pug dog).

As for the children in the house, everything is not so clear here, everything will depend on what position parents will take. If a puppy is acquired as a toy for a child, then such an alliance will not end in anything good. In order for the puppy to have proper, friendly relations with the child, parents need to make a lot of efforts, but, unfortunately, not all parents are capable of this … First of all, you should explain to the child that the puppy is a living creature, with its own desires and needs. You can not disturb a sleeping puppy and call him to play until he wakes up and wants to chat. You can not grab and pull the puppy by the front paws (and, especially, raise it so). You can’t take a puppy in his arms, otherwise he will turn out, fall from his hands and get injured. The child can only play with the puppy at floor level. You can’t pull the toy out of the puppy’s teeth, it can ruin his bite. You can not leave the puppy on sofas and chairs unattended, it can fall and be injured. You can not give the puppy any food that the child eats. A lot of “NOT” … Are your children able to behave so responsibly? Therefore, I do not sell puppies in houses where there are small children. All these lapping problems are temporary, non-global and solvable (and experienced dog lovers solve them easily and naturally), but not all parents have a desire to bother them, usually the process goes by its own accord. I am aware of very sad cases in this regard … a 5-year-old boy pushed the puppy off the couch, the puppy hit the battery and was left without an eye … the pug dog, in the game, caught his baby’s tooth on his lip, injured him, and the child was stitched … Why am I writing this? Buy your little dogs in the “Children’s World”, in the form of soft toys, and get real puppies only for yourself and on your own responsibility !!! In any case, the main care for the dog will fall on the shoulders of adult family members. Pug is simple in content, but has its own pedigree specifics. It is impossible to feed “from the table” these dogs, otherwise the problems will not take long to wait. Nutrition: industrial food or the right “natural” (prepared specifically for the dog and consisting of two-thirds of meat).
